What did Bessemer invent?

In 1856 Henry Bessemer invented the Bessemer converter!

The bessemer converter made steel quicker than anything or anyone could before. Because of its size it could also make more steel! It was an egg shape so it could tilt and swing easily.

It could make 30 tonnes of steel at once which is the same weight as a lorry!

The bessemer converter could make products bigger and quicker which meant that not as many men were needed to make steel.

This invention was the start of the industrial revoloution!
