Rainforests

Why are rainforests important?

Rainforests are beautiful, magnificent places full of trees. Rainforests are a perfect habitat for living things because of their tropical climate.

Tropical rainforests are home to over 30 million species of plants and animals. Over half of the worlds wildlife live in rainforests, and most animals live in the trees.

Lots of the food we eat come from rainforests, and lots of the medicines we use come from the rainforest too!

Rainforests produce 20% of the worlds oxygen that we need to breathe!
